History
Royal Court Hotel Coventry has a rich history dating back to 1894, when it was originally built as Keresley Hall, a grand country house for renowned car manufacturer William Hillman. Designed as a family home set within extensive grounds, the property reflected the success of Coventry's thriving motor industry during the late Victorian era and quickly became one of the area's most impressive residences.
Following the Hillman family's ownership, the building entered a new chapter when it became the Alcock Convalescent Hospital, providing care for recovering patients and later expanding its services during the Second World War. Unlike much of Coventry, which suffered extensive damage during the Blitz, the building survived and remained an important part of the local community for many years.
In the late 1960s, the historic manor house was transformed into a hotel, carefully preserving many of its original architectural features while adapting the property for modern hospitality. Today, the Grade II listed building combines Victorian elegance with contemporary facilities, including over 200 bedrooms, conference and event spaces, a health and leisure club and landscaped gardens.
